City of Thieves

The city of Crimsoncully is filled to the brim with danger, corruption—and opportunity. Few souls are willing to come to this port city, surrounded by harsh deserts and harsher climate, but those who do just may find the fortunes they seek.

New Characters

A place for you to tell us about your character. Who they are, where they come from, and what brings them to Crimsoncully. Please be warned, if your story is unreasonable, or just plain stupid, you'll be asked to change it.

The City Gates

Adventurer's brave (or stupid) enough to cross the desert to get to Crimsoncully arrive first at the city gates. The local merchants, thieves, and inn keepers in this part of the city have made it their mission to try and part naive young adventurers from their money as soon as possible.

The Docks

Ah... just smell that fresh, clean sea air! And the sewage... and the dead fish... and the unwashed bodies of sailors. Okay, the Docks aren't pretty, but coming into Crimsoncully by boat is the easiest, the cheapest, and perhaps the safest way to arrive. Not to mention that the Docks have the cheapest inn's in the city-- if you don't mind lice covered sheets and the local 'wild life mating rituals.'

The Slums

The Slums. Positively THE place to go for back alley tattooing, plague infestations, and places willing to cut your legs off for a copper. If you can't afford the churches in the Merchants Quarter, or just need a nice alley to sleep in, the Slums are a good place to come to. Just ignore that silly rumor about all the thieves, murderers, and rapists. The Slums are a perfectly safe place. Honestly. Just ask the happy locals.

The Merchants Quarter

The Merchants Quarter is a different type of hunting ground. It is here that shopkeepers and prospective buyers play an almost sadistic/masochistic game, trying to out wit one another and potentially leave the other metaphorically (or literally) bloody and beaten while coming out of it all with a shiny new toy or bauble. In addition to the shops and the Merchants Guild, the Merchants Quarter also houses proper churches for several gods, willing to offer you salvation and a respite-- if you can pay the tithe.

The Nobles Quarter

The Nobles Quarter is fabled as the one section of the city to have a legendary and mystical thing called 'clean.' Yes, The Nobles Quarter is indeed proof that money can buy happiness. As it happens, money can also buy large houses, armed patrols, high walls, and the ability to keep the 'lesser' occupants of the city at a safe distance.

The Graveyard District

People usually come to the Graveyard District for three reasons: they want to mourn someones passing, they're there to worship one of the Dead Women, or well, they themselves have died and are ready to be turned into worm food. Over the years though, the Graveyard District has also become home to all the people who don't fit in anywhere else, or simply like a bit of solitude. Either way, the Graveyard district is a fine place to be. Just be careful not to have any run ins with the local undead.

The Sewars

Dark, damp, and covered with an oddly viscous, dripping liquid. These are just a few words that describe the Sewars, in all their icky glory. Few people venture below the streets of Crimsoncully, and it doesn't take long to figure out why. Be that as it may, if you are willing to put up with the stench, the Sewars are a great way to get around the city quickly, and without being seen.

The Undercity

Legends tell of the remnants of the old Crimsoncully, now buried under an ages worth of old construction and sand. The Deep dwarves call this level of the city home, and share it with few other people and scores of monsters. Adventurers skilled enough can brave the Undercity, and maybe come out of it richer for the experience.
